A running list of things I find useful - tools, websites, and resources I keep coming back to. I add to it whenever I come across something worth sharing.
Property
NSW Valuer General - Sales Enquiry - Lets you see actual property sale prices from the New South Wales government. Handy for getting real numbers you won't find on the usual real estate sites.
DXB Interact - Open data from the Dubai government with all sorts of property statistics, including rental prices that are hard to find on the usual platforms like Property Finder or Bayut.
DXB Interact - Nationalities - A breakdown of nationalities in Dubai. Something you'd never see in Australia, but it makes sense here - only a small portion of the UAE population is Emirati, with everyone else coming from overseas. Really puts the diversity of the place into perspective.
Travel
Google Flights - Explore Deals - Great for finding cheap flights from wherever you are. You can describe where you want to go in plain language and it surfaces deals you wouldn't have thought to look for.
eSIMDB - A database for comparing eSIMs when travelling. Local data is cheap, you often don't need any ID, and some plans are even free on introductory offers. I set one up before landing and skip the airport SIM hunt entirely.
Deals
- OzBargain - The go-to for finding deals in Australia. I once picked up a flagship phone for $270 AUD through here.
